Lock Your Screen When Away
It only takes seconds for someone to access your computer.
- Always lock your screen (CTRL-ALT-DEL) when leaving your desk
- Don’t leave devices unattended in public or shared spaces
- Lock your screen even in “trusted” environments (colleagues, offices)
Be cautious of “shoulder surfing”—people watching your screen
Never leave sensitive information visible on your screen
Enable automatic screen lock after inactivity
Report if you ever find an
unlocked workstation
Follow a clean desk policy alongside screen locking
👉 Unauthorized access can lead to data theft or misuse of your account. Unattended devices are one of the easiest ways attackers gain access. Physical access = full access. A few seconds is all it takes.
